so i have made a wonderful discovery that i feel like i should have discovered a while back. i have discovered how much fun makeup is! you're probably thinking seriously?? you're almost nineteen and you don't wear makeup? well, that's not strictly true. i've been wearing brown eye shadow, mascara, and brown eyeliner since i was like 15. but i did the same thing every day. it took like 2 minutes, it was easy, simple, and cheap. but there's this whole other world of eye shadow and liquid liner and actual brushes!! never before have i applied eye shadow with anything but my fingers. now i own like 3 separate brushes just for my eyes. that's not even counting the concealer brush, two blush brushes, and two powder brushes. i didn't buy those last four, just kind of accumulated them from my sister and my mom. that's the nice thing about having a family that is mostly women: hand-me-downs :) i bought new eye shadow today for the first time in probably over a year. it wasn't brown or blue and there's more than one color in it! even though i'm making all these wonderful new discoveries, i know there's still quite a bit i don't know/ don't have. like liquid liner, for instance...
i always used to feel like makeup was only for girls who thought they weren't pretty. girls who wanted to cover their faces. turns out it's all in how you wear it. i don't wear makeup for boys or my friends. i wear it for myself. i wear it because it brings out my natural beauty. i wear it because it's downright fun to put on! (although time consuming...i'll be getting up earlier this school year :)
so many of these discoveries (and purchases...) are due to my finding out about a youtube channel of makeup tutorials called MichellePhan. she's wonderful! :)
